1.1 The Club’s official Title for Accounting & Finance is “Wigan Walking Football Club” but will be known as ‘Wigan Walkers’ hereafter referred to as ‘The Club’
2. Aim & Objectives
2.1 The Aim of the Wigan Walking Football Club is to encourage and promote the game of Walking Football. Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles, improving health & wellbeing & reduce social isolation by offering the opportunity for over 50’s to play the ‘beautiful game’ at a pace that suits them.
2.2 To organise tournaments & events for the benefit of Members.
2.3 To source outside funding.
2.4 To collect subscriptions from members.
2.5 Employ the funds of the Wigan Walking Football Club as shall be deemed to be in the best interest of the Members.
2.6 Not to unfairly discriminate against people, make sure our views about a
person’s lifestyle, religion or belief, race, gender, sex and sexual orientation, age, disability, marital status or any other factors, do not affect membership.
2.7 To become a self sufficient organisation.
3. Club Committee
3.1 The management of the affairs of the Club shall be vested in the Club Committee
3.2 The structure of the Club is decided by the Club Committee
3.3 The Club Committee shall consist of representatives from the Wigan Walking Football Club, elected annually at the Annual General Meeting
3.4 The Club Committee shall consist of Chairman, Vice, Club Secretary, Treasurer, Tournament Organisers (3), Over 50s representative, Over 60s representative, Fund raising officers.
The Committee shall have the right to co-opt further members as the need arises.
3.9 A minimum of Four committee member will form a quorum to make decisions at Committee Meetings.
3.10 Each Committee Member is entitled to one vote on issues at Committee Meetings, unless they have a vested interest in the issue for discussion, whereupon they must abstain.
3.11 In the absence of the Chairman at any meeting the Vice Chairman shall preside. In the event of the absence of both the Chairman and the Vice the Club Secretary, may preside.
4. Annual General Meeting
4.1 The Annual General Meeting shall be held every calendar year during the month of April.
4.2 The Committee will stand down & may stand for re-election.
4.3 The date and the Agenda of the Annual General Meeting shall be circulated no later than 7 days before the Meeting to all members.
4.4 All meetings to be minuted & formally adopted.
5.1 A suitably qualified member to independently inspect the records of account as prepared by the club treasurer & to submit his report for adopting by members.
5.2 The Financial Year for the Wigan Walking Football Club shall be from 1st June to 31st May.
5.3 Two Signatories will be required to issue cheques.
5.4 Receipts for all collected monies to be issues.
5.5 Should the club enter Dissolution. The committee may be dissolved by a resolution passed by a majority of members present and voting at a special meeting convened for the purpose.
5.6 Any assets remaining after the settling of any debts and liabilities shall be applied towards charitable bodies within the Wigan area, which have similar aims to those of the committee.
